HEPA is a type of filter that traps large amounts of very small particles that other filters would simple recirculate back into the air of your home.
True or absolute HEPA filters must pass a test to be considered HEPA worthy
True HEPA filters are able to trap at least 99.97% of particles of 0.03 microns.
HEPA TYPE FILTERS
HEPA type of HEPA like filters will be made in similar ways to true HEPA filters.
Just because they resemble them does not make them true HEPA filters.
These filters will often only capture 85 - 90% of particles.
HOW CAN I TELL THE
Look for the serial number and test results printed on true or absolute HEPA filters
Make sure they are 99.97% and capture up to .03 microns
